My Writing

I can’t agree with you more that governments should spend money on building roads or railways, to some extent, it’s the responsibility of governments to connect each family by building roads if governments want citizens to get higher level of wealth, as for whether spending money on railways rather than roads, it all depends.

Firstly, we should spend money on railways in a at least middle level city, because railways is faster than roads without taking too much space, there are loads of people in cities, so it will be very economic to build railways. In addition, we can even promote the development of commercial trading and tourism through these basic facilities, and people will feel more convenient and comfortable especially when they want to take a long distance journey among cities. What’s more, we may take more than double time to go to the destination through the public vehicles on roads, in some cases, we can save a lot of time if we choose the vehicles  of railways

Secondly, there are also some drawbacks exists in some situations, at first, too much money will be spent on building it, it’s not suitable for areas of low density of population, especially for rural villages so it seems that roads can be the best choice according to the situations mentioned above. What’s more, I don’t think the government have ability to build railways anywhere through the country, especially in China, because there are lots of mountainous areas and plateaus, building roads in these areas is hard, let alone building the railways.

Lastly, I was born in a poor village, there are many mountains in my hometown, I was very grateful that the government invest much money to build a good road for us. In my personal opinion, building roads first if the area don’t exist a road for transportation before, then if the area has its potential to develop economy, building railways later on.

In general, railways are better than roads, but it all depends in some extreme occasions.
