My Writing

To be honest, I am not really into the idea that museums should charge for admission, I think most people are not willing to pay for museums.

I have to admit that charging people for admission will bring extra incomes for museums, since museums need much expenditure to display or repair these historical artefacts, from this aspect, a modest admission free is very rational, but not too much, we must ensure that the public can feel acceptable for the price. What’s more, museums can do lots of interesting exhibitions if enough money is provided through admission fee, it seems that the museum will be better and more attractive.

Obviously, it takes for granted that museums should be free from the beginning to the end, as far as I am concerned, I tend to follow the public opinions, and I think the government can support the daily activities of museums, further more, the museums can have economical benefits through investments from companies and advertisements. Honestly, museums are not essentially as attractive as amusement parks, because of its simply display of artefacts and so on. Charging for admission will block the door that people go for a visit, museums have the duty to display the historical truth, but museums also have the mission to spread the knowledge of history and then educate the public, so this simple method will cut off the bridge between the museums and the visitors.

It is hard for us to decide which action is right or wrong, so museums should think twice before making a decision, and if someone insists on this measure, be sure to minimize the negative effects before it take into effect, it’s not only good for museums but for the passions of the whole society to visit.
